Founder, E-Kite, 2013

Innovative startup developing a new wind energy concept that uses a flying kite to generate electric energy

Owner, BrinkNovation, 2013

Engineering consultant for Innovation and Product Development in the renewable energy and automotive sector

Technology director, Emergya Wind Technologies, 2008-2013

Started at EWT without engineers and no experience in windturbine design. Build as part of a development contract with China Energine within 2 years a team of 20 engineers, created a complete new design 2MW windturbine (DW90) for all building blocks (i.e direct drive pm generator, blades, hub, nacelle, tower, converter, control system), build and installed the new turbine succesfully in China (December 2010). Concept design for a new 3MW wind turbine (DW114). Completed design of a new 2.3MW turbine (DW96) with electrically excited Generator.

Manager Product Development, MCi (Mirror Controls International), 2007 -2008

Eaton divested the Mirror Controls division in 2007 to MCi (Mirror Controls international) where I kept the same position.

Manager Product Development, Eaton Automotive, 2002-2007

At EATON Mirror Controls (now MCi, a world market leader in development and high volume manufacturing of electric mirror actuators in the OEM automotive market) I got line management responsibility for the Product development group and Test lab. A highly qualified and motivated team with specialized engineers developing innovative Glass and Powerfold actuators for OEM application.
Beside line management contributed to the development of a new generation powerfold actuators.
Trained in Frontline leadership, Eaton leadership program, Eaton Business Excellence auditor (Malcolm Baldridge), ISO/TS auditor, all modules Design for 6Sigma, LEAN (i.e 5S, VSM, TPM etc), , BHV, FUWA etc

R&D manager, Johnson Controls Automotive, 2000-2002

SAGEM acquired the R&D team from AG Autogas systems for OEM application of the SGI system. Then Johnson Controls acquired the automotive division of SAGEM.
After the acquisition I became responsible for the R&D team in Veenendaal providing engineering services to AG en SAGEM/Johnson Controls. The activities included mainly design and validation of the SGI sequential Injection systems for OEM customers as Renault, PSA and GM.

R&D Manager, AG Autogas systems, 1988-2000

Started with Paul Simon developing the first lambda controlled LPG system using a steppermotor unit called ALC (Analogue Lambda Control). Became responsible for system development and team including R&D, Application development and After sales.
After ALC we continued the development of microprocessor controlled systems.
During this period 3 generations of LPG systems were developed and introduced in the market:
- DGC - Digital Gas Carburation in 1995 (stepper motor controlled vaporizer)
- DGI - Digital Gas Injection in 1996 (closed loop single injector with output splitter to the cilinders)
- SGI - Sequential Gas Injection system in 2000 (SGI injector per cilinder, advanced motormanagement ECU) , developed for OEM application in co-operation with SAGEM, Renault and PSA.
